Behind the scenes at the US elections
Newsweek has a fascinating series of in-depth pieces on life in the McCain, Clinton and Obama camps, written by reporters who promised not to publish until after the election. It starts here.

I'm impressed by how civilised and pleasant McCain managed to sound in defeat - notably unlike Sarah Palin, who had the mean thwarted expression of a spoilt child at someone else's birthday party...
Re: Sarah Palin
What's she got to whine about? She got a nice, new wardrobe out of it.
But, unlike Sen. Clinton, has actually donated the clothes to a DC charity for women going out on job interviews. Plus, again unlike the Clintons, Gov. Palin is not donating her or Bill's Jockey shorts at Nordstrom's prices.
McCain could have done a much better job. Obama has so many questionable aspects. His association with extremists etc
Doesn't matter now though. Here's hoping he improves the country but not to the extent he gives in to far-left extremism.
