Mum...
...is trying to talk and is managing to say several whole sentences. Already! She is completely able to understand everyone but speaking is really hard. She is eating solid food left handedly and she moved her right hand a bit. It exhausts her, but she is a fighter, and she is getting better so fast after the stroke (which was a week ago) that everyone is very, very impressed and proud of her.
Especially me.
Especially me.

We can see where you get your determination from Rachel!! Your mum is doing so well it's amazing.
Give her a big hug from me. Remember 'Mothers are important' (I still remember the day you wrote this piece - it moved me to tears at work)
PS. This is just one example that proves it's not the story but the story-telling that elevates you high above the average. I'm so glad you have found your true calling. I'm not a professional critic, just an ordinary bloke thats drawn to your blog every day because of the outstanding quality.
The contrast between this and the previous post is remarkable.
I know what you mean about wanting some criticism (positive) as a writer. I'm not (an acredited writer) but when I've read the book I'll do my best.
It's already clear that all the reviews and comments refer to your writing ability, and the last but one piece is another example of its power: worked upon and unleashed, five years on.

This is such good news - I am so relieved for you all.
