Nick Kollerstrom, mainstay of the 'truth movement' is a holocaust denier

Via my Blairwatch feed I find some very interesting - no, sickening - information about this man, who thinks the story of 7/7 is a lie (and much more besides). He turned up to Kingston court today and hassled a man who was in the Aldgate bombings. Not the first time he's done something similar Sadly, what Blairwatch have found out does not surprise me. Go and read.

And people wonder why I have problems with these ''Truth-seeker'' people?
Now you know. (And it's not just him with these repellent views).

Enough of this rubbish. Enough.

Update: Back of the net

Dr Nicholas Kollerstrom

22 April 2008

UCL has been made aware of views expressed by Dr Nicholas Kollerstrom, an Honorary Research Fellow in UCL Science & Technology Studies.

The position of Honorary Research Fellow is a privilege bestowed by departments within UCL on researchers with whom it wishes to have an association. It is not an employed position.

The views expressed by Dr Kollerstrom are diametrically opposed to the aims, objectives and ethos of UCL, such that we wish to have absolutely no association with them or with their originator.

We therefore have no choice but to terminate Dr Kollerstrom’s Honorary Research Fellowship with immediate effect

There are plenty. I don;t put up posts like that unless I am sure the person is bang to rights.

Check for yourself.

Try googling his name.
Nick Kollerstrom, Nicholas Krollerstrom, 'astro3'.

I don't want to post the content of what he writes up here or link to it, which is why I have edited the post.

BW have more links on their site.

Like I said, opposing hate-speech and peaking out against extremism are important. Muslims get urged to do it - non-Muslims should do it too.

What he has written is foul; that he is trying to bother 7/7 survivors and disseminate this stuff on the internet and hand out leaflets - how is that any different to any other kind of extremist hate speech?

Yep the Devil old Nick seems to be indeed denying the mass slaughter of Jews,,I have to confess it´s not a subject I know much about.

What troubles me however is why you connect such views by Old Nick(holocaust denial) to people who doubt the veracity of the 7/7 bombings.Could you clear that one up for me?,,where is the connection?

He's cited as a source in this indescribably vile website

He, and others like him are active in disseminating not only the lie of the Holocaust but the lie that the 7/7 bombers and 9/11 hijackers were 'innocent'.

I have provided examples of this.

Do the '9/11 Truth' and their supporters who campaign so actively about 7/7 and 9/11 being 'a false flag operation' - do these people do anything about this? Make any attempt to distance themselves from this man with his vile views, that he doesn't keep to himself but spreads all over the internet? No, they let him and others post their lies all over their site.

They invite him to meetings. They campaign alongside him. When he reports that he has contacted survivors of 7/7, they applaud.

Now, when Muslims are urged to speak out against hate speech and lies, should not I do so too?

Conspiracy theories are not harmless. When I see vile lies taking root, being actively disseminated, the truth being twisted, febrile mistrust growing, how can I not speak out?

The 9/11 Truth people who busily deny the evidence of what happened on 7/7 and call witnesses liars and pester survivors - look at the company they keep. Their silence is a tacit condoning of this revisionist of history. Given their ability to twist truth and misrepresent events to peddle an agenda, why am I not in the least surprised?

I'm turning off anonymous comments now. People who want to debate this can identify themselves.

And if they want to have any respect from me, they can state that they abhor this man's views. I'm not giving a platform to liars, deniers, racists and hatemongerers.

I'd say Kollerstrom is

'not just irritating, but horrid, hateful, a defender of genocide, a holocaust-denier and a whining front for those who kill. Nazis defended genocide didn't they? Who stands with the defenders of genocide then, hmmm? Who thinks genocide is OK, hmmm? Who only goes on about themselves when millions suffer because of us, hmmmm???? Scum. Pondlife. That's who.'

I'd say that anyone with such views as Kollerstrom is 'worthy of contempt and ridicule, or maybe they're worth no emotion wasted at all.'

I'd say it 'makes me sick to the back teeth when some overbearing, sanctimonious, jumped-up, pumped-up, self-absorbed attention seeker makes themselves out to be so damned important that they seek to silence others, no matter what THEIR personal story, with smears, lies, hatred, ridicule, abuse and sometimes worse.'

I'd say that. Funny though, the '7/7 truth/9/11 Truth' people aren't saying that about kollerstrom, despite the outing of his sickening views.

They're saying it about me on the J7 website instead. Why? Because I criticise conspiracy theories and liars and twisters of truth and history. People who deny the Holocaust. People who deny the London bombings.

Tells me all I need to know.

And they're currently complaining about being 'smeared'.

Sorry - no sympathy here at all.

The End.

The conspiraloons are running scared on this one, Rachel, which is why they're trying to draw you into discussion as anonymous posters.

It reads from Blairwatch like they're pulling down links from hate forums, and then they're coming here to ask with smiling faces for the evidence they just hid. Don't give them column room, or if you do: edit their comments to have "conspiraloon" at the top in red Comic Sans.

Hassling someone who was in the Aldgate bombings seems like connection enough to me, and if nobody believes that happened then it doesn't take much Googling to dig further e.g:

(Feel free to edit the links out if you don't want their crap validated by your blog linking to it.)

May I have a right of reply?
Most of your viewers may share your own knee-jerk response of ‘Holocaust denier =Nazi= anti-Semitism,’ with the accompanying hate and rage; and this is the one any only topic in our culture where everyone knows they are supposed to believe it but no-one ever gets to hear what the evidence is supposed to be, and one gathers it would be very ethically damnable to inquire about it. For the one or two who wish to look into the subject and dare I say question it, permit me to recommend perusing ‘Dissecting the Holocaust’ by twenty-odd different authors which is the modern work on the subject:

You are quite right to call me a ‘denier’ in that I deny that anyone ever put Jews into gas chambers. That didn’t happen, its not part of the historical record. There are no documents, no photographs, no physical traces or remains, no post-mortem diagnoses of deaths by cyanide poisoning: there are only stories. In all the Nazi documentation, the ‘Final solution’ always meant the export of Jews, Eastwards, it never had a lethal meaning. The Bad-Arolsen archives in North Germany are the definitive record of who died in the camps, how many died, and how they died.
Thank you for allowing me to reply, have a nice day.
PS On a quite different topic, you say I ‘hassled’ a survivor of the Aldgate train-blast on 7/7: well I did have a fascinating conversation at the Kingston court with such a survivor who left me his e-mail address. Said over the first few days after the event he thought he was going mad because the reports kept alluding to Aldgate trains going the wrong way, i.e. towards King’s Cross, and to other stations Aldgate East and Liverpool Street, and then to the third carriage when he knew that it was the second. That might perhaps endorse my argument in ‘Aldgate - trains were going the wrong way’

I am not going to get into a debate with you, Holocaust-denying, poster-on-White-Supremacist-sites, heckler, liar, harasser of survivors, abusive nuisance who cites his academic qualifications in an attempt to give credibility to his foul, obnoxious views.

Piss off. I'm leaving your comment up so people can see what you are.

And don't even think about trying to spam my site with your repellent views or links ever again. They will be deleted.

Bye, Nick Kollerstrom.

I do not intend to indulge Holocaust-deniers on my personal website, nor would I invite them into my personal space.

Freedom of speech does not extend to hate-speech or acting as an apologist for mass-murder, like Nick Kollerstrom and his liar 'Truther'friends.

Want to have a debate about that? Go elsewhere.

Further lame stirring deleted: take it somewhere else eh? The position has been made clear. I don't usually delete comments but I do on this topic in this case for very good reasons. If you want to make points about free speech and Holocaust deniers having the 'right' to come onto my personal blog and spout race-hate, go start your own blog about it. Bye.

Dear God... anyone who tries to deny that the Holocaust happened is a loon. What do you say to the plethora of eyewitnesses to the event?

For real reading on the Holocaust, I recommend:

The Nizkor Project": A fine overview site that can function as a starting point for new Holocaust-deniar refutation. It has the benefit of containing a section dedicated to the specific myths and lies Holocaust deniers speak of ("66 Questions and Answers About the Holocaust").

BTW: Not to "engage" the idiot above, but rather to correct the record: There is plenty of evidence for not only the Zyklon B gassings of Jewish and other prisoners, but also of the first experimental carbon monoxide "gas vans". The surprising thing about the denial of this point is not only that is there a ridiculous amount of evidence supporting this, but that the evidence is recorded by the Nazi's themselves. How much more credible does the evidence need to be?

Other sites:

The Shoah Education Project
United States Holocaust Memorial Museum

Other readings:

Michael Shermer's & Alex Grobman's "Denying History: Who Says the Holocaust Never Happened and Why Do They Say It?". This is good reading that teaches the concept of "convergence of evidence", and points out something about the Holocaust that too many deniers do not seem to understand, and that I noticed also applies directly to 9/11 conspiracy fantasy: Both chapters of history are complex events with myriad details, testimonies, and converging pieces of evidence that simply cannot be falsified by pointing out individual errors, inconsistencies, or misunderstandings. Attempts to refute the truth of the Holocaust must account for all the evidence, not merely for the point inconsistencies or mistakes. Attempts to refute 9/11 must do the same. Deniers of both so far have failed to do so.

Keep it up, Rachel. Too much of the internet is laden with mistruths and fantasies. Nothing about Holocaust denial reflects positively on Enlightenment values; rather, they are hearkenings back to the dark ages of superstition. What little any of us contribute towards refuting the deniers is of value, as it puts the truth on record as small points of illumination in an online sea of dark ignorance. Keep doing what you do, and don't let the bastards wear you down.

Elmondohummus, thanks for your links. Holocaust deniers seize on every inconsistency while ignoring the larger picture. For example, photos whose authenticity has been disputed:

By being aware these exist, and avoiding their use as evidence ourselves, we can avoid giving deniers the opportunity of a "gotcha".

I find it fascinating what drives conspiracy pedlers. There is the overt claim that "truth" is their highest value but underneath this there is also a huge emotional driver where this concern with "truth" is only a rationalisation for something else - a deeply held emotional position. I notice that some of these people are astrologers (a system where anything you say can be true) while and others believe that they are the messiah! Possibly the emotional driver is some narcissistic hurt and to compensate for this they have to maintain a sense specialness through having this special knowledge & where the Gov is always at fault. Any attack on their intellectual integrety plays right into their martyrdom complex.

Rachel, I am afraid that you will never convince them because they live in a closed paranoid bubble where they are never wrong. U probably know this. Where you can win is with the "floating voters" who can be persuaded to doubt their fantasies.
