Jacqui Smith is by miles the nicest Home Secretary, I'll tell you that much.
More to report on this soon, meanwhile, to keep things ticking over....This week's Observer

Hi Rachel,
good to see you back blogging.
The original petition to No 10 was rejected but that was old New Labour - maybe a new campaign is needed?

Hi Poons.
I'm taking a break from personal blogging, and won't resume that for a couple of months, probably,( because personal things are sad after Mum's recent death and I feel that I want to stay private) but will blog intermittently regarding campaigns that are important to me - the pan-blogosphere libel one, the Iraqi interpreters and the 7/7 Inquiry campaign, which has involved legal action being taken by us against the Home Office.
We're now moving into Phase 2 of the latter and I'll update more as and when
Honey she may be nice but the old adage that you don't trust a politician even if you get it in writing is there. Chamberlain and pieces of paper come to mind.
Until the inquiry happens well just be careful.
Take care
