It was really humbling to be there, incredibly sad but also very beautiful.
The monument is stunning. People kept walking among the stelae, touching them, it is hard to describe how powerful it is to be there.
It was good to be amongst friends, and to talk to so many people. I was with people from King's Cross, Aldgate and Edgeware Rd.
We prayed for the victims and families, remembered the worst of it together, and we toasted life with friends who I did not know until the terrible events brought us together.
I will do what I always do: go where I always go, with the people who were there, and lay down white roses.

Today - as on this day each year - I'm thinking of you and everyone else who was caught up in the awful events of four years ago.
ReplyDeleteEspecially in my thoughts are the 52 people who can't be here with us today, and those they left behind.
