Rachel: Whilst I was researching EU and UK legislation in relation to the Prisoners Votes Case, I think I came across regulations which could arguably mean that the BNP MEPs would be incompatible legally within the EU.
If I am right, I don't know how the EU would resolve the issue. It may simply rule they should never have stood as candidates, and the seats may be contested by other legitimate candidates.
In any event, I don't support the view expressed on the BBC that the BNP should not be confronted head-on. Bullies and cowards should be tackled head-on.

Interesting angle John. I think Searchlight looked at something similar - maybe you could contact them?
Done - and "hi" Rachel :)
Why do you feel compelled to say its "not in your name". If you didn't vote for them then of course it isn't in your name.
Is it because you feel the need to explain you didn't vote for them? This isn't a very nice way to think in a supposedly free society.
