Yes a very good piece.
And the thing about Omar is true as well, I thought that myself. He looked like a Jack Bauer wannabe in dodgy combats, not a suicide bomber. Afterall, if suicide bombers looked like that, we wouldn't have any 7/7's now would we?
The media relished the opportunity of that small group of protesters behaving like idiots to paint all Muslims as crazed lunatics (as per usual) and so they kicked up a huge fuss about Omar and the banners. I made some comments about this in Holly Finch's blog post about the cartoons.
The ensuing furour over the demo probably scared him into coming forward to apologise and landed him back in jail.
