I am new to this site, and I think it is really good that you put your experiences on the web like this. It definately makes people understand more what other people are going through.
once again, either the us government cant find its arse with both hands and a road map,and/or they are trying to politically spin and downplay this horrible, dreadful situation.
at the very least, sometime down the road, there needs to be in inquiry into the response- at all levels of american government- just like the 9-11 commission.
It is such compelling, terrible viewing ,the aftermath of Katrina. Such a tragedy. And as a news story it touches on...
Bush and his administration
The political so-called 'War on Terror' policy and its place at the heart of the US government policy - the resources it leaches, the men and women and National Guard in Iraq
The environment/oil/global warming
And it comes back to Bush really. His policies, his war on terror, his political reasons for it, his agenda.
You sow the wind, you reap a whirlwind, Bush
So, unfortunately do lots of other people, In Iraq and in Afghanistan and in the South of the US, whose only problem was being poor and in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Thanks for that article Rachel. This is a good article too that pretty much sums it all up:
