and now the BBC talkboards and the Guardian talkboards. Oh, and some 9/11 conspiracy theorists but they don't get a link, because they are quite, quite mad and so objectionably insulting - not to mention inaccurate ( the Vatican does not allow priest to marry, for starters, mr - you -know-who-you- are) that I exploded with mirth at their ramblings. No, I am not a COINTELPRO Vatican whore commie bitch slut, and yes, you had better stay in your bedroom and play on the internet until you feel better. And don't even think about playing with guns.

Any more, let me know. It's interesting what a wide range of the political spectrum the links cover...

Thank you. Very much. Let's hope that Dad hears back from his M.P soon.
My mother is anxious that I will be nobbled by M15 for dissension, but as even M15 seem to be after a public enquiry, I feel calm enough at present. Though I shall keep a look at for sharpened umbrellas brandished on bridges...

But you haven't offended any Bulgarian's, have you? :-)

The only people interested in civil liberties these days are MI5 and the Conservative party....

P.S. Your dad islucky he didn't get detained under anti-terrorism legislation..... Possesion of an opinion offensive to a Cabniet Minsiter in public place, no doubt.

P.P.S. The next play in the New Labour play book is to make you, your dad, your finace, your cleaner etc. out to be a fascist/racist/etc.... You remeber the old lady who ended up on a hospital trolley?

Good point. But I haven't even got a parking ticket to my name.

And my personal life and political viewpoints have been here for all the world to see since July 7th...

As to lurking facists in the family - nope. Church-going liberals all, with a propensity for being school governors, running volunteer missions to Romanian orphanages, raising money for charity, etc. Any dirt-diggers are going to struggle. But I think it would be easier just to write a letter back to Dad, don't you?

Rachel,

You are vs Alistar Campbell on this one, particularly if you speak out at the Commonwealth Observance ceremony.

It says everything about him that his first job as a student was writing the "letters" that claim to be sent by women to a lads magazine.

My suggestion would to keep in close touch with any journalist friends... they will hear the whispers first. Don't think that they won't find/invent something that cannot be missinterpreted.

Writing a letter would be easier, for a sensible, intelligent person. Going to face you might be better. Putin managed that for the Kursk families. Says it all really.

Good luck with this.

All I am saying at the Commonwealth Observance ceremony is the pre-agreed words above. It's ok, it's going to be a beautiful ceremony and I shall respect its dignity and the honour that I have been afforded in being allowed to speak.

But thanks.

Even though it was Charles Clarke, I still can't quite believe he'd think that's an appropriate response - especially as your father's a man of the cloth, hardly known for their propensity to hurl insults... Then again, perhaps poor Charles assumed he was simply one of the regular nutters - like all those obviously deraged mothers of soldiers killed in Iraq that the government resolutely ignores...

(By the by, the link to "Drowned in Sound" and the one to my place have got merged somehow.)

Oh, and good luck at the Abbey - say hello to Charles for me. I do like Charles. Top man.
